Det mest dristige, Horta nogensinde gjorde. Facaden er ikke, hvad du tror. Det er ikke en væg, der bærer vægten af konstruktionen, men en hængende gardinfacade. Til udbygningen brugte Horta industrielle materialer, såsom synlige metalbjælker med nitter. Indenfor arbejdede han med et split-niveau. Lige efter indgangen forsynede Horta en vinterhave, hvor han byggede hele sin plan omkring. Haven er kronet med en kuppel i farvet glas i bly og bliver i øjeblikket restaureret. Opgaven blev udført af Edmond van Eetvelde, diplomat i Congo, som kunne skaffe de mest eksklusive træsorter til indretningen af sin bolig i kolonien. Noget at tænke over nu, hvor vi ser på vores koloniale fortid med et andet perspektiv.
