Das kühnste, was Horta je getan hat. Die Fassade ist nicht das, was Sie denken. Es ist keine Wand, die das Gewicht der Konstruktion trägt, sondern eine hängende Vorhangfassade. Für den Erker verwendete Horta industrielle Materialien, wie sichtbare Metallträger mit Nieten. Innen arbeitete er mit einem Split-Level. Direkt nach dem Eingangsbereich plante Horta einen Wintergarten, um den er seinen gesamten Plan aufbaute. Der Garten wird von einer Kuppel aus buntem Buntglas gekrönt und wird derzeit restauriert. Auftraggeber Edmond van Eetvelde, Diplomat in Kongo, konnte in der Kolonie die exquisite Holzsorten für die Einrichtung seines Wohnsitzes beschaffen. Etwas, über das man nachdenken sollte, jetzt wo wir mit anderen Augen auf unsere koloniale Vergangenheit blicken.
