Rådhuset ligger i hjertet af byen, på det hyggelige torv på Grote Markt.
Det neoklassicistiske rådhus blev opført mellem 1870 og 1873 efter planerne fra arkitekt Trappeniers. Den majestætiske bygning blev fuldstændigt frisket op i 1970'erne i anledning af sit 100-års jubilæum. I slutningen af 2003 påbegyndtes nye renoveringsarbejder, som blev afsluttet i 2005.
I rådhuset findes en omfattende samling af malerier, herunder dette af den berømte Jean-François Portaels og hans skole.
Der er også talrige buster af tidligere borgmestre og busten af kong Albert lavet af Rik Poot, en bronzestøber fra en familie i Vilvoorde, der i dag er verdenskendt for sine skulpturer i teknik med tabt voks.
