Velbeholdt klassicistisk plads, der blev bygget til ære for 25-årsdagen for Karel af Lotharingens regering i 1776. Dette var et af de sjældne steder, hvor borgerne og adelen gik til fods. De følte sig trygge der, pladsen var brobelagt, og luften var bedre end i underbyen. I øjeblikket må denne plads klare for meget biltrafik, og statuen af Godfried af Bouillon fungerer som en trafikroun.
