Beaumont, beliggende i dalen ved Hantes, er stedet hvor Napoleon opholdt sig natten før slaget ved Waterloo.
Beaumont ligger på en 70 m høj bakke over Hantes. Byen blev forsvaret af en imponerende vold med omkring 30 tårne. Den vigtigste rest fra dette er Salamandertårnet fra det 12. århundrede.
Byen er også kendt for sine festligheder, der afholdes hver 5. år den første søndag i oktober. Her mindes legenden om Kejser Karl og de tre markedsfolk. Da kejseren tog ud på en tur, blev han løftet af sadlen af tre markedsfolk, der ikke vidste, hvem han var. Efter at han vendte tilbage til fods, lod han dem hænge på den centrale plads.
Beaumont er desuden kendt for sine makroner.
