Zoutleeuw er en by i den belgiske provins Vlaams-Brabant. Byen ligger på grænsen mellem Hageland, Vochtig-Haspengouw og Haspengouw, i østlige del af provinsen, og har over 8000 indbyggere. Indbyggerne kaldes Leeuwenaars.
Indtil det 16. århundrede hed byen blot Leeuw. Den ældste bevarende form fra 980 er leuua. Den stammer fra det germanske hlaiwa, et accusativ flertal. 'Hlaiwa' eller 'Leeuw' betyder "ved gravhøjene". Den indtil nu ældste fundne form med "zout" stammer fra 1533. I dette år blev Guilelmus van Ottenborch fra Soutleu registreret ved universitetet i Leuven. Zoutleeuw var en havneby ved den Lille Gete, hvor klippesalt fra Vogeserne blev importeret.
