I 1928 designede Antoine Courtens, en studerende fra Victor Horta, Haerens House, en af hans mest vigtige realiseringer. Han var arkitekt, dekoratør, møbeldesigner og den mest betydningsfulde repræsentant for Art Deco i Bruxelles.
Dette hjørnehus blev bygget til Robert Haerens, en ingeniør der arbejdede for Empain Group.
