Disse tidligere bygninger fra G.K.F. Company (Gérard Koninckx Frères - engrosforhandler af eksotiske frugter) er et fantastisk eksempel på arkitekturen fra 1920 - 1930, designet af arkitekten Eguenge Dhuicque (Bruxelles 1877 - 1955). Han studerede på Kunstakademiet i Bruxelles og hos arkitekterne Janlet i Bruxelles og Selmersheim i Paris. Han designede mange industrielle bygninger. De blev alle realiseret med samme fokus på detaljer.
Bygningens struktur er i armeret beton, som blev meget brugt i denne periode. Brugen af facaden til reklame er typisk for denne periode.
Den blandede funktion af bygningen (hus/handel/depot) var ikke usædvanlig i nærheden af kanalen og viser ønsket om at udnytte al den tilgængelige overflade i byen.
