I kampen mod vandstanden i Zaventem blev der anlagt en stor ventetjørn på et område tæt på den Store Ring (området ved H. Henneaulaan).
Området ved og omkring denne opsamlingssø blev indrettet som en gåpark. Et netværk af stier giver forbindelse til en sti omkring opsamlingssøen og cykelstien mod Woluwe.
Der blev maksimalt brugt lokale planter (buske, skovplanter, roser). Af sikkerhedsmæssige årsager blev der opsat en indhegning omkring ventetjørnen med en højde på 1,20 m. Ventetjørnen og gåparken blev officielt indviet af kommunalbestyrelsen i juni 1996.
