Rundt kirken i Alveringem’s delområde Oeren opstod der under 1. verdenskrig en militær kirkegård. Her ligger 508 belgiske soldater begravet. Engang stod der mange heltehyldest gravsten her, kendetegnet ved bogstaverne AVV-VVK. I februar 1918 blev disse bogstaver smurt på ca. 38 grave. I dag finder du stadig 5 heltehyldest gravsten på denne kirkegård.
