'De Gevel' er et fugtigt naturområde. Det centrale rørskov og de omkringliggende våde skove og engområder udgør et rigt fuglebio-top. Lille kærkese, skovrørvokter, græshoppe-sanger, stor hvid egret, blåhæger, søko, vandhøne, gulerod, musvåge og hornugle er faste gæster. Fra efteråret opholder også krakand, vinterbidsk, dodaars, rørspurv og vandris regelmæssigt i området.
