Louise-Marie, en landsby på grænsen mellem Maarkedal og Ronse, har en ret ung historie. Sognet opstod i den hollandske æra (1815 - 1830) som et resultat af en naturlig, social og geografisk forbindelse mellem beboere fra kommunerne Ellezelles, Ronse, Nukerke, Schorisse og Etikhove.
Planerne om at bygge deres egen kirke blev lagt på hylden på grund af Belgien's uafhængighed. Endelig blev fundamentstenen til kirken lagt i 1850. Døden af den første belgiske dronning, Luise Marie d'Orléans, på dagen for lægningen af fundamentstenen kunne forklare navnet på sognet Louise-Marie, selvom dette ikke kan siges med sikkerhed.
