Louise-Marie, un hamlet en la frontera de Maarkedal y Ronse, tiene una historia bastante joven. La parroquia surgió en la era holandesa (1815 - 1830) como resultado de una conexión natural, social y geográfica entre residentes de los municipios de Ellezelles, Ronse, Nukerke, Schorisse y Etikhove.
Los planes para construir su propia iglesia fueron archivados por la independencia de Bélgica. Finalmente, la piedra angular de la iglesia fue colocada en 1850. La muerte de la primera reina belga, Luise Marie d'Orléans, el día de la colocación de la piedra angular explicaría el nombre de la parroquia Louise-Marie, aunque esto no se puede afirmar con certeza.
