This impressive building dates from 1879. It is built in neo-baroque style - see the many columns.
From this building the financial and legal services for the district of Dinant-Philippeville are managed. A little further is the prison of Dinant, the smallest in Wallonia with 32 prisoners.
Right on top of the facade you see Thémis, a mythological Greek, daughter of Uranus and Gaia, who ruled over oracles such as that famous one from Delphi. She taught humanity the laws of justice and ethics. She stands here so high that her voice is still difficult to hear in our days…
