I Banneux viste Maria søndag den 15. januar 1933. Siden da har utallige mennesker søgt håb, fred og helbredelse i en landsby, der langsomt er blevet til et ægte pilgrimsmål. Hellig sange og bønner stiger højt op over træerne, og en korsvej samt utallige kapeller ligger spredt mellem fyrreskovene.
