Wartburg er et slot på en 441 m høj bakke over byen Eisenach i den tyske delstat Thüringen. Ifølge legenden blev højborgen grundlagt i 1067. Mindst tre efterfølgende fyrster fra huset Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach boede på slottet.
Slottet skulle være blevet grundlagt omkring år 1070 af den daværende greve af Thüringen, Ludwig af Schauenburg, også kaldet Ludwig Springer. Hans søn Ludwig I af Thüringen modtog i 1131 titlen som landeherre fra kejser Lothar III.
