Falkensee er en by med omkring 44.000 indbyggere i den østlige del af Havelland. Den er et middelcenter i Brandenburg og har status som en stor by med tilknytning til en kreis.
Falkensee ligger i den nordvestlige kant af Berlin i den såkaldte "Speckgürtel" i naturområdet Zehdenick-Spandauer Havelniederung. Mod nord grænser Falkensee op til Schönwalde, mod vest til Brieselang, mod syd til Dallgow-Döberitz, som hører til Brandenburg. Mod øst grænser den op til de til Berlin-Spandau hørende bydele Falkenhagener Feld og Staaken. Byggeri i Falkensee glider i øst og syd sømløst over i Berlin-Spandau eller Dallgow-Döberitz. Det største vandområde, Falkenhagener See, ligger i den nordlige del af byen.
