Schotten er en lille by og en luftkurby i den midt-tyske Vogelsbergkreis. De nærmeste større byer er Alsfeld mod nord, Fulda mod øst, Bad Nauheim mod sydvest og Gießen mod vest.
Den statsgodkendte luftkurby ligger i en højde af 168 til 773 meter på den vestlige skråning af Vogelsberg. Byområdet omfatter Hoherodskopf og Taufstein, de to højeste toppe i naturparken Vulkanregion Vogelsberg. Schotten er en turistdestination, kendetegnet ved snesikkerhed om vinteren og vandremuligheder om sommeren i omfattende skove. Vandaktiviteter er også mulige ved den nærliggende Niddastausee.
