Viersen er en by og kommune, beliggende ved venstre Rhinbred i Nordrhein-Westfalen, og det er også hovedstaden i Kreis Viersen. Kommunen har 77.376 indbyggere på et areal på 91,07 km².
Kommunen Viersen er opdelt i bydelene Alt-Viersen, Dülken, Süchteln og Boisheim. Alt-Viersen består af kvartererne Beberich, Bockert, Hamm, Heimer, Helenabrunn, Hoser, Rahser, Rintgen, Ummer, Noppdorf. Tæt ved byen ligger Wilhelmshöhe, som med 85 meter over havets overflade er det højeste punkt i området. På denne bakke er Bismarckturm bygget.
