Landkreis Halberstadt var en Landkreis i vest for delstaten Sachsen-Anhalt. Den 1. juli 2007 blev den en del af den nye Landkreis Harz. Nabo-kredse var mod nord de nedersaksiske kredse Wolfenbüttel og Helmstedt samt Bördekreis, mod sydøst Landkreis Quedlinburg, mod syd Landkreis Wernigerode og mod vest den nedersaksiske Landkreis Goslar.
Ved opdelingen af regeringsdistriktet Magdeburg i den preussiske provins Sachsen i kredse blev bykretsen Halberstadt dannet i 1816, som udover byen Halberstadt omfattede de omkringliggende landsbyer Emersleben, Groß Quenstedt, Harsleben, Klein Quenstedt, Sargstedt og Wehrstedt.
