Kommunens område ligger i den nordlige del af den frugtbare Magdeburger Börde med jordværdiopgørelser op til 100. I nord for enhedskommunen strømmer Ohre, og Mittellandkanalen ligger der. Her går Börde over i Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide med let sandjord. I den sydlige del af kommunen er landskabet præget af overgangen fra Hohen Börde til Elbens urstrømsdal. Her kan der registreres højdeforskelle på op til 70 m.
Nærliggende større byer er Haldensleben cirka 10 km nordvest, Wolmirstedt cirka 10 km øst og delstatshovedstaden Sachsen-Anhalt, Magdeburg, omkring 20 km sydøst.
