Guxhagen ligger 12,5 km syd for Kassels bymidte mellem Geo-Naturpark Frau-Holle-Land, der grænser op til kommunegrænsen, og den lidt mere fjerntliggende Naturpark Habichtswald. I byen løber Schwarzenbach ud i Fulda; i sidstnævnte løber Eder ud ved den vestlige kommunegrænse til Edermünde.
