Guxhagen est une municipalité allemande située dans l'arrondissement de Schwalm-Eder et dans le land de la Hesse. Elle se trouve à 15 km au sud de Cassel.
Le camp de concentration de Breitenau est construit dans la ville dès 1933. En 1938, la synagogue de la ville est détruite lors de la Nuit de Cristal et onze juifs habitants la ville sont internés dans le camp. Il sert dans un premier temps de camp pour punir les détenus politiques puis dans un second temps tel un camp de travail forcé et un camp de transit vers les autres camps de concentration situés à l'est.
