Panketal er en kommune i den sydlige del af Barnim-distriktet i Brandenburg, direkte ved den nordlige bygrænse til Berlin.
Kommune Panketal ligger på den istidsdannede Barnim-højslette og betragtes som en del af Niederbarnim. Den højeste punkt i kommunen findes på Gehrenberg med 93 m over havets overflade. Den navnsgivende Panke, en biflod til Spree, strømmer gennem kommunen fra Bernau og præger den lige så meget som Bäch Dranse. Byggeri i bydelene Schwanebeck og Zepernick glider gradvist over i det berlinske byområde Buch.
