Panketal es un municipio en el sur del distrito de Barnim en Brandeburgo, directamente en la frontera norte de la ciudad de Berlín.
El municipio de Panketal se encuentra en la meseta de Barnim formada durante la era glacial y se considera parte de Niederbarnim. La elevación más alta del territorio municipal se alcanza en Gehrenberg, con 93 m sobre el nivel del mar. El río que da nombre, Panke, un afluente del Spree, atraviesa el municipio proveniente de Bernau y lo modela junto con el arroyo Dranse. La construcción de los distritos Schwanebeck y Zepernick se integra fluidamente con la del distrito de Berlín Buch.
