Eisenach er en by i den vestlige delstat Thüringen i Tyskland med 41.884 indbyggere. Administrativt har Eisenach status som en kreisfri by. Byen er kendt som fødestedet for Johann Sebastian Bach, som hjemsted for Martin Luther og som lokation for bilindustrien. Historien om Eisenach er forbundet med Wartburg, som er ældre end selve byen.
Wartburg blev første gang nævnt i 1080 og skulle ifølge legenden være bygget i 1067. Af de bosættelser, der opstod ved borgen, kom byen Eisenach frem, som i 1190 havde status som civitas.
