Aspach består af fire tidligere uafhængige landsbyer: Großaspach, Kleinaspach, Allmersbach og Rietenau. I 1972 gik de 4 landsbyer sammen under navnet Aspach. Landsbyerne blev grundlagt mellem 950 f.Kr. og 1150 f.Kr. Rietenau har naturlige kilder og var tidligere et populært spa indtil begyndelsen af 1900-tallet. Vand fra Rietenau bliver stadig tappet på flaske i dag. Hovedlandsbyen, Großaspach, er fødestedet for Hans Werner Aufrecht, medstifter af AMG Engine Production and Development, mere almindeligt kendt som AMG, samt betydningen af "G" i navnet. Det bliver ofte fejlagtigt antaget at være virksomhedens første lokation, men der har aldrig været kontor, fabrik eller forskningsfacilitet der - undtagen for garagen, hvor Aufrecht og Melcher begyndte at tune biler og motorer.
