5. Luftwaffendivision () var fra 1990 til 1994 en division af det tyske Luftvåben i Strausberg. Den blev oprettet med genforeningen af Tyskland den 3. oktober 1990 og blev omdøbt til 3. Luftwaffendivision den 1. april 1994. Siden den 1. april 1963 har der været et kommandoorgan med samme navn i Birkenfeld, som den 1. april 1971 blev omdøbt til 2. Luftwaffendivision.
Kommando 5. Luftwaffendivision blev oprettet som en overgangsstruktur indtil 1994, da ifølge To-plus-Fire-aftalen måtte ingen NATO-underordnede militære enheder operere i Østtyskland i perioden frem til afslutningen af stationeringen af russiske tropper. Derfor havde Kommando 5. Luftwaffendivision til opgave at lede Luftvåbnets styrker selvstændigt i Østtyskland og samtidig afvikle de gamle luftstyrker fra Nationale Folkearmee i videst muligt omfang.
