Fyrtårnet Unterfeuer Blankenese har siden den 29. november 1984 sammen med fyrtårnet Oberfeuer Blankenese dannet retningsfyrlinien Blankenese for elbopadsejende skibe. Det første fyrtårn, der blev bygget i 1984, var i drift indtil 2020, hvorefter det blev erstattet af et andet og revet ned, da retningsfyrlinien blev flyttet 600 m mod sydøst som en del af Elb-dybningen.
