Geyen ligger på den gamle vej fra Pulheim mod nord over Sinthern mod sydvest til Brauweiler. I nordvest ligger landsbyen Manstedten. Pulheimer Bach flyder gennem Geyen.
Nordøst for Geyen blev der i 1978 fundet en villa rustica. Geyen blev første gang nævnt som villa Gegina i året 962. Patronage for kirken i Geyen blev i 1229 givet til Kölns katedral kapitlet. I samme år havde kapitlet erhvervet større landejendom i Geyen. Politisk hørte Geyen og Pulheim derimod til amt Bergheim i hertugdømmet Jülich, mens omegnen hørte til Kurköln. I 1794 besatte franske tropper stedet. Geyen som en del af distriktet Weiden blev i franske tiden administreret af Arrondissement de Cologne i Département de la Roer. I 1815 kom Geyen til Kongeriget Preussen og i 1816 til Landkreis Köln i Regierungsbezirk Köln. Indtil 1956 tilhørte Geyen amt Pulheim. Den 1. januar 1964 kom Geyen til kommunen Brauweiler. Siden 1. januar 1975 tilhører det sammen med Brauweiler byen Pulheim.
