Sognekommunen var en kommune i midten af delstaten Sachsen-Anhalt. Den 1. juli 2007 blev den en del af den nye Salzlandkreis som en del af kommunereformen i Sachsen-Anhalt.
Nabo-kommuner var i nord den frie by Magdeburg og Landkreis Jerichower Land, i øst Landkreis Anhalt-Zerbst, i syd kommunerne Köthen og Bernburg og i vest Landkreis Aschersleben-Staßfurt og Bördekreis.
