Le district de Schönebeck était un district au centre du land de Saxe-Anhalt. Le 1er juillet 2007, il a été intégré dans le cadre de la réforme des districts en Saxe-Anhalt dans le nouveau district de Salzlandkreis.
Les districts voisins étaient au nord la ville indépendante de Magdeburg et le district de Jerichower Land, à l'est le district d'Anhalt-Zerbst, au sud les districts de Köthen et de Bernburg, et à l'ouest le district d'Aschersleben-Staßfurt et le district de Börde.
