Estopiñán del Castillo er berømt for sin Aerinite. Aerinite er et blålilla inosilikatmineral. Dets navn kommer fra en græsk rod "aerinos," som betyder "atmosfære" eller "himmelblå". Det blev først beskrevet af Lasaulx (1876) fra et præparat i Wroclaw-museet, som blev indsamlet i Aragon, Spanien. I 1882 fandt geologen Luis Mariano Vidal mineralet in situ i Caserras del Castillo, en lokalitet der i øjeblikket tilhører kommunen Estopiñán del Castillo.
