La Charca er et beskyttet naturområde, der grænser op til de også beskyttede klitter ved Maspalomas.
Faktisk ligger denne sø næsten ved udløbet af en tør flod. Mellem søen og havet er der et smalt klitområde. Når floden, ved kraftig regn, indeholder vand, strømmer det ind i søen. Ved stærk storm kommer der havvand over klitområdet, hvilket gør vandet brakkent.
Her kan man altid se vandfugle, en kikkert er nødvendig.
