Nieuwerleet er en kommune i den nordlige del af Frankrig, i den franske Vesthoek. Kommunen ligger i fransk Flandern, i regionen Houtland, i Marais audomarois. Marais audomarois er opstået, fordi havet tidligere kunne trænge ind hertil via en lavning mellem Watenberg og bakkerne ved Sperleke. Naturreservatet Romelaëre ligger i syd tæt på Nieuwerleet. Det er et fugtigt område, der delvist er opstået på grund af tørveudvinding.
