Châteauroux [ʃato'ru] ved Indre er en by i centrum af Frankrig, hovedstad i departementet Indre og sæde for kommunefællesskabet Châteauroux Métropole.
Châteauroux blev grundlagt af Raoul I. le Large, prins af Déols, som her omkring 950 byggede Château-Raoul. I 1230 fik Châteauroux byrettigheder og var oprindeligt sæde for en herredømmet, der i 1497 blev til et grevskab og i 1616 blev ophøjet til et hertugdømme af kong Ludwig XIII. til fordel for Henrik II. af Bourbon, prins af Condé. Dette blev givet til kong Ludwig XV. i 1744, efter at hans elskerinde Marie-Anne de Mailly-Nesle pludselig var død. I 1790 blev Châteauroux hovedstad i departementet Indre.
