Millay ligger cirka 58 kilometer øst-sydøst for Nevers på kanten af Morvan. Millay er omgivet af nabokommunerne Larochemillay mod nord, Poil mod nordøst, Saint-Didier-sur-Arroux mod øst, Luzy mod syd, Fléty mod sydvest, Avrée mod vest samt Chiddes mod nordvest.
