Briare-akvedukten i det centrale Frankrig fører Canal latéral à la Loire over floden Loire på sin rejse mod Seinen. Den erstattede en flade krydsning fra kanalen for at mødes med Briare-kanalen, som var farlig i flodtider. Mellem 1896 og 2003 var den den længste navigerbare akvedukt i verden, indtil åbningen af Magdeburg Vandbro.
