Caen er en fransk kommune, beliggende i departementet Calvados og regionen Normandiet, tæt ved bredden af Orne-floden. I 1999 havde den 114.007 indbyggere. Dens betydning skyldes nærheden til jernforekomster, som har gjort den til et industrielt center. Kanalen Orne forbinder den med sin forhavne i Ouistreham.
