Launstroff er et lille landbrugssamfund bestående af 50-60 huse, med få undtagelser over femoghalvtreds år gamle.
I landsbyens plads, ved siden af kirken, er der et krigsmonument for dem, der gav deres liv i Første Verdenskrig og Anden Verdenskrig. Under Anden Verdenskrig er der optegnelser om amerikanske tropper, der var i landsbyen, som næsten ligger på Siegfried-linjen.
