Sedan er en fransk kommune ved Maas og en underpræfektur i departementet Ardennes. Kommunen havde 16.092 indbyggere den 1. januar 2019. Den ældste omtale af Sedan stammer fra 1259. Greverne Van der Marck erhvervede herredømmet Sedan i 1424. Senere kom det gennem ægteskab til familien De la Tour d'Auvergne. Fra 1547 til 1642, næsten et århundrede, var Sedan et fyrstendømme uafhængigt af kongeriget Frankrig.
