Quentovic er en gammel handelsport fra det 7. til det 9. århundrede. Det var en af de vigtigste havne for karolingerne. Ligesom Dorestad var Quentovic en personlig besiddelse af Karl den Store.
Dens navn skulle være dannet af Quentia, det latinske navn for Canche, og vicus eller Wicus; Vicus betegner en lille agglomeration, mens Wicus kunne betyde bugt, havn ifølge L. Levillain, der oversætter Quentovic som Port-sur-Canche).
