Welshpool er en by i det walisiske amt Powys; den ligger i dalen ved floden Severn og har haft markedsret siden 1263.
Welshpool er centrum for et omfattende landdistriktsområde; allerede siden det 7. århundrede fandt der hver mandag det største walisiske kvægmarked sted her. Nærheden til grænsen til England har allerede i middelalderen givet sig udtryk i pro-engelske tendenser; indbyggerne har traditionelt talt engelsk. Også bybilledet med en bred hovedgade og mange murstenshuse er ikke middelalderligt, men snarere georgiansk.
