Slottet Bracciano, hvor hertug Paolo Giordano II. Orsini boede, var hovedgrunden til, at dronning Christina af Sverige forlod Via Lauretana mod vest i december 1655. Hertugen havde siden 1649 sendt breve og digte til dronningen i Stockholm. Christina havde derimod lovet at besøge ham på sin rejse til Rom.
Slottet kan besigtiges. Mindet om Christina bevares gennem et malet portræt. Der er en marmorbust af hertugen, som i slotkataloget tilskrives billedhuggeren Guglielmo Fiammingo. (Den mest berømte Guglielmo Fiammingo levede i det 16. århundrede. På anmodning forklarede kuratoren af slottet, at attributionen henviste til en yngre Guglielmo Fiammingo. Han var dog ikke sikker på, om denne attribution kunne holde.)
