Das Schloss Bracciano, auf dem Herzog Paolo Giordano II. Orsini lebte, war der Hauptgrund dafür, dass Königin Christina von Schweden im Dezember 1655 die Via Lauretana nach Westen verließ. Der Herzog hatte seit 1649 Briefe und Gedichte an die Königin in Stockholm geschickt. Christina wiederum hatte versprochen, ihn während ihrer Reise nach Rom zu besuchen.
Das Schloss kann besichtigt werden. Die Erinnerung an Christina wird durch ein gemaltes Porträt bewahrt. Es gibt eine Marmorbüste des Herzogs, die im Katalog des Schlosses dem Bildhauer Guglielmo Fiammingo zugeschrieben wird. (Der berühmteste Guglielmo Fiammingo lebte im 16. Jahrhundert. Auf Anfrage erklärte der Kurator des Schlosses, dass sich die Zuschreibung auf einen jüngeren Guglielmo Fiammingo beziehe. Er war sich jedoch nicht sicher, ob diese Zuschreibung Bestand haben könne.)
