Piazza Papa Giovanni XIII i Pistoia er især kendt for Ospedale del Ceppo.
Dette er et gammelt hospital i Pistoia, der blev grundlagt i det 13. århundrede.
Ifølge legenden stammer navnet fra en træstub, der om vinteren mirakuløst blomstrede, og som ifølge en åbenbaring fra Jomfru Maria viste de fromme ægtemænd Antimo og Bendinella stedet, hvor hospitalet skulle grundlægges. En anden mulighed er, at navnet stammer fra den hule "stub" af kastanjen, der blev brugt til at samle offergaver.
Det var byens hospital indtil 21. juli 2013, da det blev erstattet af det nye San Jacopo Hospital i den sydlige del af byen.
