Blauwestad er et områdeudviklingsprojekt i den østlige del af provinsen Groningen. Området ligger i kommunen Oldambt i den ligeså kaldte landsdel og groft sagt mellem byerne Winschoten, Beerta, Midwolda, Oostwold, Finsterwolde og Scheemda. Til projektet hører også boligområdet Blauwestad med nu cirka 800 indbyggere. Målet med planen var at forbedre livskvaliteten i regionen. Både planlægningen og gennemførelsen har været præget af forskellige tilbageslag. Det endelige projekt adskiller sig i en række henseender fra de oprindelige planer, og færdiggørelsen vil finde sted langt senere end først antaget.
