Mata Hari, pseudonym for Margaretha Geertruida (Griet) Zelle, var en hollandsk eksotisk danserinde og kurtisan. Under Første Verdenskrig blev hun rekrutteret som spion. Hun blev dog anklaget for dobbeltspionage og henrettet af franskmændene. Spørgsmålet om, hvorvidt hun virkelig var en dobbeltspion, er genstand for diskussion og har bidraget til hendes legende.
7. august er hendes fødselsdag. Hun blev født her i dette hus i Leeuwarden i 1876. Hun døde i Vincennes den 15. oktober 1917 efter en henrettelse.
