For a generous portion of romance, you're in the right place in and around Maastricht. Via walking junctions, you walk past green estates and beautiful castles just outside the city, where 19th-century industrial magnates like Petrus Regout sought peace. A highlight of the route is Kasteel Vaeshartelt, once a historic villa and now a special castle hotel. During the walk, you will discover the park, the ice cellar, the tea pavilion, and the hidden gardens that give this route its charming character.
