Der Wiener Neustädter Kanal ist ein im Erzherzogtum Österreich unter der Enns 1803 in Betrieb genommener künstlicher Wasserlauf. Auf diesem von Wien bis in den Raum Wiener Neustadt reichenden, auf 63 km Länge erweiterten Kanal wurden vor allem Holz, Ziegel und Kohle aus dem Raum südlich der Donau nach Wien transportiert. Da spätere, private Eigentümer vorrangig Bahnprojekte verfolgten und wichtige Teile des Wasserweges zur Bahntrasse umwidmeten, ging die Kanalschifffahrt ab 1879 stark zurück und hörte noch vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg ganz auf.
